Love's Journey

Ciao! This week's theme is "Love's Journey". Our first song was originally recorded by the Everly Brother's and more recently by various artists, but the one by Nazareth from 1975 is my favorite version of the song Love Hurts . Next up we have Tonight's the Night by Rod Stewart from 1976. Now let's listen to Chris Rea with Josephine from 1985. Our next song is Last Dance by Donna Summer from 1979. And now here is Barry Manilow with Mandy from 1974. It is one of the most played songs from the 70s on radio and television. The song was written by Scott English who recorded it in 1971 with the original title Brandy . Manilow's single Mandy reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Now here is Genesis with Your Own Special Way from 1976. Next up is All of Me by John Legend from his 2013 album Love in the Future . Ain't No Mountain High Enough by Marvin Gaye and Tamm Terrell from 1966 was a top twenty hit which peaked at number 19 on the Billb...

I Need Love

Ciao! This week I've chosen the theme, "I Need Love", and our first song is Ama Chi Ti Vuole Bene, which means "love the one who cares for you". It's by Alessandra Amoroso from 2009.

Next up is Need You Bad by Ted Nugent from his 1978 album Weekend Warriors.

Our next song is Cercavo Amore by Emma Marrone from 2011. The title of the song means "I was looking for love".

All Out of Love is a song by British-Australian soft rock duo Air Supply, released as a single in 1980 from their fifth studio album Lost in Love. In the US it reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100 and number five on the Adult Contemporary chart, as well as number eleven in the UK. It is also number 92 on VH1's 2003 list of The 100 Greatest Love Songs.

Amami Adesso, which means "love me now" is by Giordana Angi and it was released in 2020.

Broken Wings is a 1985 song recorded by the American pop rock band Mister Mister. The song peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in December 1985, where it remained for two weeks. It also topped the charts in Canada, and was in the top ten in Australia, Belgium, The Netherlands, Norway, the Republic of Ireland, Switzerland, the UK, and West Germany, and in the top 20 in Australia, New Zealand, Spain, and Sweden.

Now let's listen to Ho Bisogno d'Amore by Paolo Miniguzzi from 2007. The title of the song means "I need love".

Now here is Love to Be Loved by Peter Gabriel from 1992.

Amore di Plastica, or "plastic love" is by Carmen Consoli from 1996, and she laments that her loved one only knows how to love her in a superficial way, which she calls "plastic love".

Next up is Don't Leave Me This Way by Thelma Houston from 1976. It topped the US Soul Singles chart, the Disco chart, and the Billboard Hot 100. It also reached number 13 in the UK and was featured on the soundtrack to the 1977 film Looking for Mr. Goodbar. The song also won a Grammy Award for Houston in 1978 for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance.

Anche Fragile by Elisa is the third single from the Italian singer-songwriter's tenth studio album, released in 2019. The song explains how even strong people can sometimes be fragile. In fact, the title of the song means "also fragile".

If You Don't Know Me by Now was written by Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff, and was originally recorded by Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes in the early 70s. It has since been recorded by a number of other artists, most notably the English pop and soul band Simply Red, who took their version to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1989.
