Don't Know Why

Ciao! This week’s theme is “Don’t Know Why”. Let’s start it off with “I Can’t Tell You Why” by the Eagles, from 1979.

“Salutalo Da Parte Mia” by Einar from 2018 is a song about the end of a relationship, and he knows that he is about to be replaced by someone else, to whom she will tell only the negative things about her former love. The title means “tell him I said hello”.

Next up is “What Is Life?” by George Harrison, from his 1970 album “All Things Must Pass”.

“Se Telefonando” by Mina from 1969 is another beautiful song about a relationship that has ended. She says “if I could say goodbye, I’d call you. If I could see you again without hurting you, I’d see you. If I could look in your eyes and say ‘enough’, I’d look at you. But I don’t know how to explain that our newly found love is already over”.

Now let’s listen to “Loving You Again” by Chris Rea from 1987.

Our next song is from 1985 by Enrico Ruggeri, and the title is “Poco Più di Niente” which means “little more than nothing”.

And now here is “After the Love is Gone” by Earth Wind & Fire from their 1979 album “I Am”.

Next we have Marco Masini with “Ali di Cera”, which means “wings of wax”, from 1998.

"Sacrifice" is a ballad by English musician Elton John, written together with his long time collaborator, Bernie Taupin. The song appears on the 1989 album “Sleeping with the Past”. It was the second single from the album, and achieved success in 1990, particularly in France and the UK, becoming his first solo chart-topper in both nations.

Next up is “Quando Due Si Lasciano” by Anna Tatangelo from 2005. The title means “when two people break up”.

“Still” by the Commodores was released as a single on Motown Records with "Such a Woman" as the B-side. The song appears on their 1979 hit album “Midnight Magic”. It is notable for being their last No. 1 before Lionel Richie went solo.

Our next song is “Ed Ero Contentissimo” by Tiziano Ferro from 2006. The title means “And I Was So Happy”.

(“Alone” by Heart from 1987 - without introductory narration.)
